Take Flight Girls Inc. was started in 2014 by Stephanie McCloud, Persian Jones Morgan, and Deerra Williams. We wanted to create a platform that we felt was missing from our own lives growing up. Young women face many challenges in today’s society, which seems to discount the value women bring to our country. The nurturing of new ideas and dreams of success can make differences in the life of a young girl attempting to envision her life as a woman. It is at this stage in life that positive influences can propel young women to greatness. Take Flight Girls Inc.’s mission is to empower young women by highlighting aviation career opportunities, the importance of travel, and entrepreneurship. Based out of Atlanta & St. Louis, the organization targets girls between the ages of 12-21 to nurture and develop them into well-rounded women. We do this by holding events geared around our mission. We provide resources, mentorship, and scholarships around areas we are passionate about. We encourage and introduce young women to travel, humanitarianism, and fellowship amongst each other. Lastly, we strive to allow girls to learn about the aviation industry, network with industry members, and provide them opportunities that we were not exposed to at that age. Our organization stands behind the belief that life is the greatest school, and the world is the classroom. This program aims to be the catalyst that introduces the next female innovators to impact our society and world.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
As women of color, we carry it all, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and physically, nothing is off-limits as creators Latoya Elnora (@latoyaelnora) and StephTakesFlight (@stephtakesflight) rummage through their bags on this podcast; discussing all things that make you laugh, cry, roll your eyes, and ask the question WHY. In Her Bag is a cultural phrase we’ve coined to mean... getting to the money. On our show, we use the phrase as a metaphor for our everyday struggles.
